SuperSport United has completed the signing of Zimbabwean international Evans Rusike, who joins the club from Maritzburg United.
The 27-year-old has now put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal with Matsatsantsa.
Rusike has already netted eight goals and assisted a further three from 23 appearances in all competitions for the Team of Choice this campaign before making the move to SuperSport.
SuperSport CEO Stanley Matthews said: ‘We have been watching Evans with great interest over the last few years at Maritzburg.
‘He has all the makings of a great striker with blistering pace, great skill and he can finish in the box. We are thrilled to announce his signing and look forward to him making a meaningful contribution for us over the next few years.’
Meanwhile, Rusike is hoping to repay the club for the faith they showed in him by helping Matsatsantsa cement their place in the top eight of the Absa Premiership.
‘SuperSport United is a great club. They have achieved a lot in their short history, especially in the Cups. They have also shown that they can get players to Europe and it remains my dream to play in Europe,’ Rusike said.
‘I know I have to prove myself to the coach and management of SuperSport and I will give my best to boost the team into the Top 8 this season.’
Over the course of his career in the PSL, Rusike has managed to rack up a total of 80 appearances in all competitions while scoring 21 goals and assisting a further nine in the process.
