Mamelodi Sundowns striker Percy Tau believes that he can still improve after enjoying a breakthrough campaign, writes DEAN WORKMAN.
The forward has enjoyed a stellar season in the Absa Premiership, scoring a league-high 11 goals and is largely tipped to be named the Player of the Season. His performances have also earned him high praise and he has been touted to make the move to Europe sooner rather than later.
Tau, however, believes that there is still room for improvement. When asked at a press conference – after he was named Absa Premiership Player of the Month for April – if he is a late bloomer, the attacker said, ‘I think you guys could have seen me before, it’s just that I didn’t get the opportunities.
‘When I got into the first team it was really strong, it was difficult for me to break in. So, maybe I could have come in earlier, but I can’t question that because now I am getting the opportunity to play.
‘The progress is there, I always feel like I see progress in my games. I still feel it’s going to continue as long as I have the ambition and hunger to win, I still feel I will get better.’
Tau will be in action for Sundowns when they come up against Bloemfontein Celtic in the final game of the season on Saturday, with kick-off at 3pm.
