Percy Tau is adamant that log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns will not repeat the mistakes made in the past following their 1-0 victory against Cape Town City.
Khama Billiat’s solitary goal at the Athlone Stadium on Friday night ensured that Pitso Mosimane’s side remained at the summit of the table.
Despite looking every bit the part of the champions, Man of the Match Tau warned rivals that his side will not repeat the mistakes of the 2016/17 season.
‘Last season we lost the league in our last three games,’ he said in post-match comments.
‘We are trying to improve on that and we are much stronger now. We have new signings that are helping us, so hopefully we will work hard and win the league.
‘We need to keep on going. We are still going to have tough games.
‘We knew it was not going to be easy. They were playing at home and have beaten us in the last three games.
‘We knew that they were going to give us a hard time, they are second on the log (at the time).
‘We had to bring in our A game and it worked out. I think we really worked hard and this is the reward of the hard work,’ he concluded.
Sundowns’ next assignment sees them do duty against Cape Town All Stars on Friday in the Nedbank Cup last-32 with kickoff set for 20:00.
