Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has confirmed that the club are looking to bring in a forward before the end of the January transfer window.
After the Downs coach revealed earlier that they are looking at a big new signing, rumours quickly emerged of their interest in former Kaizer Chiefs man Knowledge Musona.
The Zimbabwe striker decided to stay in Belgium, though, at least for another six months, signing for KAS Eupen from Anderlecht on a loan until the end of the season.
Mosimane revealed that Sundowns could not compete with the money involved in a deal for Musona, but has since told KickOff.com that they are still in the market for a striker.
‘The signing is still there, it’s still hanging. Just be patient. There is movement, and we are moving,’ Mosimane said.
‘Probably it will happen, you never know. But I think it looks positive. If it’s not, I’ll tell you – you know that I’ll tell you.
‘I just need one guy to score goals. We play well, we push the ball well, Pitso [Mkhulise] is good; “Mshishi” [Zwane] is good; Lebo [Maboe], Thapelo [Morena], “Vila” [Sibusiso Vilakazi] – they are all good. I need somebody to score more – just one more guy who’s so shrewd,’ he concluded.
A prominent arrival at Chloorkop would come as a big boost for the Brazilians, who are competing on multiple fronts in the league and Caf Champions League.
