AmaZulu team manager Qedi Dlamini confirmed that the club were on high alert and managed to two people were nabbed for selling fake tickets, while a third person was also arrested.

‘There are a few fans who were arrested. They were caught selling fake tickets and we can safely say as the club that they were selling fake tickets because they were all using the same number,’ Dlamini told KickOff.com.

‘So it is one ticket that has been repeatedly done, so they were arrested. The security department has done a big job and as of now they’ll be arrested here at Umlazi police station.

‘Then they’ll appear in front of the Magistrate Court and definitely as the club we are charging them for selling fake tickets.

‘They also got tickets for other games. They had tickets for the game of Maritzburg United against Bidvest Wits on Saturday. They also had the tickets for the game on Wednesday between Golden Arrows against Sundowns. The gospel concert, they also had those tickets and I don’t know where it is.

He added: ‘This time we were vigilant. One of the things that had to balance is what you get from the gate of people inside the stadium and that didn’t balance.

‘Remember last season we were not over the capacity, we were below capacity. Today we were vigilant and that’s why they were caught early. We can assure that those people who entered the stadium were people who had valid tickets.

‘Two fans were arrested from selling fake tickets and the other one was arrested for the incident that happened in the tunnel. In that one I can’t comment, only the PSL will comment because it is far above me,’ he concluded.
