SuperSport United coach Eric Tinkler says his side will not underestimate Cape Town City when they lock horns at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.
Matsatsantsa currently occupy 10th place in the Absa Premiership standings with 14 points after seven games, trailing log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by five points.
The 47-year-old, who coached City last season, says he is well aware of the threat Benni McCarthy’s side possesses and he doesn’t expect the encounter to be a walk in the park.
‘Cape Town City already have started the league very well – they’re up there. It’s going to be a tough game, and they’ll be motivated because it’s SuperSport United,’ Tinkler told KickOff.com.
‘What we have achieved this season and last season, we are a team to beat, so we can’t underestimate them at all. They have had certain good results and bad results but so did I, when I was there.
‘I also had a few good results and bad results. I got hit by Platinum Stars four [4-0], but they [City] have players that have the ability to turn that around. We can’t underestimate them, it will be a tough game.’
SuperSport United against Cape Town City kicks off at 3.30pm.
