Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila have confirmed that the club will not be able to afford the salaries of a number of Bidvest Wits players after sealing a deal to buy the club, putting the likes of Thulani Hlatshwayo, Deon Hotto and others all up for sale.
TTM confirmed on Saturday evening that they had struck a deal to buy the PSL status of Wits and their players, with plans to relocate to Venda under the TTM name.
Rumours abounded for weeks that a number of Wits stars are up for sale, with the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs all looking to pounce.
On Monday a number of TTM members were quoted in the media along with boss Masala Mulaudzi, who revealed that they can’t afford the salaries of some of the stars.
‘We have spent a lot of money on securing this status and we will not be able to afford Thulani Hlatshwayo and other players. We told the club that they can sell him to interested teams. This includes him, Buhle, Hotto, Monare,’ said TTM CEO Sello Chokwe.
‘Motupa will not be at TTM next season. We are talking to a team and the transfer will be over soon. He indicated that he doesn’t want to move to Limpopo and we respect that. We will allow him to go to a club of his choice,’ he added.
As things stand Hotto, Hlatshwayo, Motupa, Mkhwanazi, Monare, Haashim Domingo, Sfiso Hlanti and others are on their way out of Wits.
