Kaizer Chiefs veteran midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala is set to leave the club after more than a decade of service by switching to Turkish Super Lig club Erzurumspor.
Amakhosi caused a frenzy on Wednesday after they announced the signing of former PSL Footballer of the Year Lebogang Manyama. Hours later, Giovanni Solinas’ side made their second signing of the day securing the services of former Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United defender Mario Booysen from Ajax Cape Town.

There was further news to be digested by the Amakhosi with rumours suggesting that a move to Turkey was imminent for their dreadlocked legend.

The Turkish side took to their official website to confirm the 33-year-old’s arrival. (statement translated from Turkish)
‘Principle agreement reached for the official signature of the experienced footballer will take place two days after he travels to Erzurum,’ read a statement on Erzurumspor’s website.

‘Siphiwe Tshabalala is a position number 10 midfielder, will sign a two-year deal,’ the statement read.
Tshabalala joined Chiefs in 2007 from Free State Stars and has since gone on to make 342 appearances for the club, scoring 55 goals and assisting a further 86.
