Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi believes it’s just a matter of time before he rediscovers his goal-scoring form.
The Brazilians climbed to the top of the Absa Premiership standings with 22 points after defeating Golden Arrows 1-0 at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday.
Vilakazi admits that he would have loved to have scored against Abafana Bes’thende following his Man of the Match performance.
‘It was a very tough game against Golden Arrows. They gave us a good fight. As you can see, in the first half we played against the wind. So we were struggling a bit to get hold of the ball so (after) one chance through a set-piece we were able to get there,’ Vilakazi told SuperSport TV after the game.
‘It was a tough performance. It was a well worth victory and we will take it from here. Personally, it was a fair game for myself and it would have been nice to get a goal, but we have to keep pushing. You have to go through the tough times, you have to go through challenges where I haven’t scored up to so far.’
‘I will keep on pushing and somewhere, somehow it’s going to open up and once it opens up, the goals will keep on coming.’
Sundowns next welcome Maritzburg United to the Loftus Versfeld Stadium when the two sides meet in the Premiership on Wednesday, with kick-off at 19:30.
