Cape Town City confirmed the worst-kept secret in local football on Tuesday morning when they unveiled Bafana Bafana legend Benni McCarthy as their new head coach.

The 39-year-old, who signed a three-year deal with the club, will serve in his first role as head coach after having had stints at Glasgow Celtic and Sint Truiden VV as a striker and assistant coach respectively.
