Kaizer Chiefs players were spotted throwing muti on the Loftus Versfeld Stadium pitch prior to their 1-1 draw against defending Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ricardo Nascimento’s first-half penalty was cancelled out by an excellent striker-type finish by Ramahlwe Mphahlele.

Masandawana coach Pitso Mosimane dominated the headlines after questioning the decision to award Amakhosi striker Khama Billiat the Man of the Match accolade, but that wasn’t the only talking point from the first official game of the 2018-19 campaign.
During an inspection of the pitch prior to the game, one of the Chiefs players was caught throwing muti on the grass.

The videos of Chiefs’ muti-throwing have since gone viral on social media, with people seemingly divided on the use of traditional medicine.
