Kaizer Chiefs suffered their third loss in the Absa Premiership after falling to a 2-1 defeat by Maritzburg United at the FNB Stadium over the weekend.
The Glamour Boys’ four-game unbeaten run in the league came to an end after a brace from Daylon Claasen cancelled out Samir Nurkovic’s 77th-minute goal, which proved to be consolation for the Soweto giants.
Following their defeat, Amakhosi remain at the top of the league standings with 45 points from 20 games, but with their lead now reduced to six points.
Maritzburg, meanwhile, remain in sixth place with 33 points from 22 matches played, despite snatching all three points from the Soweto giants.
