SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews says midfielder Sipho Mbule will not play for the club again, adding that Mbule is not in the right headspace and they would rather finish lower down the league with a unified team than have the wantaway man in the side.
Mbule’s push for a move away from Matsatsantsa has been much discussed as the player looked to force a move in the January transfer window, with both Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs reportedly showing interest.
However, after letting Tebogo Mokoena go to Downs, it was unlikely that SuperSport would release another key midfielder and they blocked any move.
Mbule did not react well to the block and had not been in the team for some time. Last week, it was officially announced last week that he was suspended from training for disrespecting his teammates and the coaching staff.
Now, Matthews has revealed in an interview with MetroFM that Mbule would never play for the club again, adding that he has let himself and his teammates down.
