Bidvest Wits came from behind to secure a 4-2 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic at the Dr Molemela Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Friday, writes DYLAN APPOLIS.

The Clever Boys came into this clash having failed to win their last league game against AmaZulu after scumming to a 2-0 defeat last week.

Meanwhile, Celtic came into this encounter in good spirits after securing back-to-back draws against Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates respectively.

The home side got off to a perfect start as Tebogo Potsane handed Celtic the lead three minutes into the game.

The visitors grew into the game and started seeing more of the ball after going a goal down, while Celtic were happy to sit back and hold on to their one-goal lead.

Wits should have levelled matters when they were awarded a penalty after Mbhazima Rikhotso brought down Gabadinho Mhango in the box. Keagan Ritchie stepped up, but had his spot-kick saved by Patrick Tignyemb.

Celtic managed to hold on to their lead as the game went into the half-time interval.

Wits came out with more intent in the second half and equalised after 58 minutes when Mhango found the back of the net with his strike.

Gavin Hunt’s side then took the lead for the first time in the game 10 minutes later, substitute Gift Motupa heading home a Mhango cross to make it 2-1.

Celtic then drew the game level with four minutes remaining as Tshegofatso Mabasa slotted the ball past Darren Keet.

However, Wits sealed the win when Dzvukamanja completed his brace in stoppage time to hand the Students maximum points away from home.
