Maritzburg United defender Siyanda Xulu faces an uncertain future according to his agent, Paul Mitchell, also saying the defender would be open to a move back to Gaunteng amid links to Orlando Pirates.
Xulu’s contract at Maritzburg expires at the end of June, but with the league currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic the defender’s agent says the player wants to finish the season with the Team of Choice before securing a new club.
‘Siyanda Xulu is our big worry at the moment,’ said Mitchell on SAFM.
‘His contract with Maritzburg ends in June. He would like to finish the season at Maritzburg and then start looking.
‘We have not signed a pre-contract with anyone and have not signed a new deal at United either,’ he confirmed.
Despite not signing a pre-contract, it’s believed that Orlando Pirates are seriously interested in his services, with Mitchell saying the player would be open to move back to Gauteng but would also consider a move abroad.
‘I think for Siyanda now at 28, he is in his prime. He is a top player and available on a free contract. He could consider a move back to Gauteng if it arises,’ added Mitchell.
‘He can also move abroad because it’s all about the right move financially at this stage of his career,’ he concluded.
