Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer has came to the defence of Fortune Makaringe and compared him to Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo after his showboating incident.
Makaringe’s showboating was the main talking point during the Buccaneers hard-fought 1-0 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.
The for Martizburg United star came under criticism from Zinnbauer’s counterpart Pitso Mosimane, who labeled his showboating as ‘not good for football’.
However, Zinnbauer has came to the defence of Makaringe, arguing that even the likes of Ronaldo is guilty of using his skill in a match.
He continue to say that he will not change Makaringe and will continue to support the Pirates attacker.
‘I am not happy about this, (especially) when we have an opponent like Sundowns. I know a player, Ronaldo is his name and he plays in Italy, you know him and he does the same and supporters make the same (noise) and I can’t say ‘Fortune I will change you’. It’s not top, but I cannot stop this,’ Zinnbauer told reporters.
