Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer is disappointed not to have walked away with three points, but is happy with the Buccaneers over performance against Golden Arrows.
The Buccaneers failed to bounce back from their Soweto derby defeat to Kaizer Chiefs after playing out to a goalless draw against Abafana Bes’thende at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium over the weekend.
The draw saw Pirates dropped down to fourth place with 40 points from 23 games played and are now eight points behind log leaders Chiefs with seven matches remaining in the season.
Zinnbauer laments Arrows for their ‘very aggressive’ defending which saw Pirates create seven shots at goal, but none on target.
‘Ja it was a tough game, we know this before. You see the field, the opponent is very aggressive in the defending, we know this. The performance from my team was not bad, we want three points,’ Zinnbauer told SuperSport TV.
Orlando Pirates will now travel to Loftus Versfeld Stadium when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns in a mouth-watering fixture in the Absa Premiership on 17 March, with kick-off set for 7:30pm.
