Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer has encouraged Buccaneers supporters to follow government regulations during South Africa’s nationwide lockdown.
All football in the country was halted following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in South Africa.
The Buccaneers were sitting fourth in the Absa Premiership standings, with 40 points from 23 games played, before the league was suspended.
However, Zinnbauer has sent a message to the Buccaneers faithful urging them to stay safe and stay at home during these difficult times.
‘Orlando Pirates family, we can’t be with you in the stadium but we can also play our part in the battle against the coronavirus,’ Zinnbauer said in a video posted on Pirates’ official Twitter page.
‘We would like to encourage you all to stay safe and stay at home.
‘When we need to go out for essential items put on a mask and gloves, use hand sanitiser, and wash your hands often.
‘Please stay safe and play your part.
‘Orlando Pirates family, we looking forward to seeing you again.’
