Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer says his side’s impressive second-half performance was down to changing his system against AmaZulu.
The Buccaneers extended their unbeaten run to six matches under Zinnbauer after securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Usuthu at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
The Soweto giants are now up to fourth place in the Absa Premiership standings with 33 points after 19 matches, trailing log-leaders Kaizer Chiefs by 12.
Zinnbauer, who changed the system at half time, has revealed that he asked his players one question in the dressing room before returning for the second half.
‘The support was fantastic today. We didn’t come good in the first half. It wasn’t easy because the opponents changed a little bit the tactic against the ball because normally they have the high pressure, now they were waiting for us,’ Zinnbauer told SuperSport TV post-game.
‘It wasn’t so easy because normally we have a lot of space. But we changed the system a little bit at half time.
‘We went back to the normal Pirates system. It was good then because we created three or four big chances. When you don’t make the goal, it’s always difficult in football.
‘We changed the system at half time. The question I asked the guys, “Is this Pirates?” The team came back and it was the normal football that we want, congratulations to my team.’
