The Brazilians secured their first win of the season following their 2-0 victory over Rise and Shine at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday evening through goals from Ricardo Nascimento and Lebohang Maboe on his full debut.

Zwane, who was named Man of the Match, admits that they had to ground out the victory to secure maximum points, while adding that he needs to improve his finishing in the final third.

‘I want to thank my teammates and the technical team for giving me the opportunity to play. Today, we really worked hard. We needed these three points, we ground out the points,’ Zwane told SuperSport TV after the game.

‘So far so good, but I need to improve my finishing and make the right decisions in the final third.’

The 29-year-old midfielder says he enjoys combining with new teammate Maboe, who found the back of the net on his full debut.

‘Our combination is becoming better, he is new in the team but our understanding is there,’ he added.

Mamelodi Sundowns will now turn their attention to the MTN8 when they take on Golden Arrows at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off set for 3pm.
