Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Themba Zwane has promised to up his game in a bid to reach goal of being nominated for a few PSL awards in the new season.
The 28-year-old has grown in leaps and bounds since signing for Pitso Mosimane’s side from ABC Motsepe League outfit Vardos FC in 2011.

Zwane played an integral part of Sundowns’ title winning campaign last season, contributing six goals and seven assists in 27 appearances in the Absa Premiership.
The former Mpumalanga Black Aces man said he would like to win everything possible as an individual and with his team.

‘I obviously have to set goals, and even last season I did so but they were not achieved. So, this season I need to put in more effort,’ he told kickoff
‘I want to be nominated for, maybe, Player of the Season, Midfielder of the Season or Top Goal Scorer, those are the things that I’d like to achieve this coming season.
‘For me the competition is nice because it always keeps me on my toes. Whenever I get a chance, I have to make sure that I make use of it.

‘I think it’s better to have strong competition than to play where there is no competition, because obviously you’ll relax as a player.
‘But if you know your place is not guaranteed you will always work harder, and if you don’t play you will always do extra work to be ready for your chance when it comes,’ he concluded.
