Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has revealed the type of striker he would like to acquire to bolster his attacking options.

The Glamour Boys got their 2022-23 DStv Premiership campaign off to a slow start after they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat by Royal AM at Chatsworth Stadium through a goal by Ricardo Nascimento.

New signing Siyethemba Sithebe, Ashley du Preez, Yusuf Maart and Zitha Macheke all featured for Amakhosi in their defeat, with Zwane now stating they are looking to add a striker to their ranks for a different dimension up front.

“Yes, we’re still looking, you can see the way we want to play. We don’t want a striker that will come and be like the players that we have,” Zwane told SuperSport TV after the game.

“We need someone who is strong on the ball, someone who is a good header of the ball, someone who can hold the ball for us to join in at high speed, then that will give us that different dimension.

“Right now, we have more speedy players, if they can be a little but clinical like today it could have been a different story altogether,” he added.
