Kamohelo Mokotjo has signed with Major League Soccer side FC Cincinnati following his departure from English Championship side Brentford at the end of last season.
The combative midfielder was signed on a free transfer after his side decided not to renew his contract following their failure in the Premier League playoff final.
The 29-year-old midfielder will join up with his new teammates upon the clearance of his international visa ahead of the 2020 season in the United States top-flight.
“We are pleased to add a player in Kamo who will be a strong fit for what we are looking to do at FC Cincinnati,” Cincinnati GM Gerard Nijkamp, who worked with Mokotjo at PEC Zwolle said.
“He is an intelligent player that will be an asset for our club on both sides of the pitch. We look forward to welcoming Kamo to Cincinnati and having him integrate within our locker room.”
Mokotjo will now look to break into Netherlands legend Jaap Stam’s starting line-up that’s opened the new season with two wins and a defeat.
