According to reports in Scotland, Bafana Bafana star Bongani Zungu is on the verge of completing a move to Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers side.
Zungu arrived back in France this week where clubs have begun training ahead of the start of the 2020-21 season after the country decided to scrap its leagues at the start of the coronavirus outbreak.
Zungu, who plays for Amiens SC in the French Ligue 1, was close to securing a move to Spain in January but it fell through at the last minute.
Zungu, however, is waiting for the clubs to come to agree on a transfer fee but it is believed they are willing to let him leave for around €4 million (approximately £3.8m) after he entered into the last year of his contract in the north of France.
Zungu’s agent, Alexis Ramalingam, confirmed that he was in talks with a number of clubs about a move.
‘There’s a big possibility that he leaves France this summer, but we can’t comment about any clubs for now in order to respect the clubs we are in talks with,’ he said.
‘There’s interest in Ligue 1 and in other parts of Europe but I just can’t reveal where for now.’
Rangers are belived to be willing to pay Amiens’ asking price which would leave the 27-year-old just having to agree personal terms before signing on the dotted line.
