South African striker Lars Veldwijk continued his good run of form after bagging a hat-trick for Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam, writes DYLAN APPOLIS.

Veldwijk maintained his impressive form for Dutch side Sparta Rotterdam after netting a hat-trick during their 4-2 victory over Utrecht in the Dutch second division over the weekend.

Veldwijk has now scored 13 goals in 13 appearances for the Dutch outfit as they maintain their first place in the league after claiming 30 points from 13 games.

Percy Tau

The former Mamelodi Sundowns star played the entire 90 minutes for Union Saint-Gilloise as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Mechelen in the Belgian First Division.

The 24-year-old has now scored four goals and assisted a further five from 13 appearances in all competitions.

The Belgian side remain second place in the league standings, despite suffering their fourth defeat this season.

Siphiwe Tshabalala

The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder came on as an 89th-minute substitute as Erzurumspor secured a 2-1 victory over Goztepe in the Super Lig over the weekend.

Tshabalala has now managed to make nine appearances in all competitions, while the win sees the Turkish outfit move off the foot of the league table and into 17th place after 12 matches played.

Lebogang Mothiba

The Bafana Bafana forward lasted 86 minutes as Strasbourg extended their unbeaten run to seven games following their 0-0 draw with Mothiba’s former club Lille in the French Ligue 1.

Mothiba has now racked up 13 appearances in all competitions while scoring seven goals and assisting a further one in the process. Strasbourg have dropped down to eighth place in the league standings with 18 points after 13 games.

May Mahlangu

The 29-year-old midfielder was an unused substitute as Ludogorets secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Beroe in the Bulgarian Parva Liga.

Since his last appearance for Ludogorets, Mahlangu has made 13 appearances while scoring two goals. His side currently occupy second place on the log, level on 18 points with leaders CSKA Sofia.

Thulani Serero

The former Ajax Cape Town midfielder was not part of Vitesse’s match-day squad (due to injury), who defeated Utrecht 2-1 over the weekend.

Although he has not found the back of the net for the Dutch side yet, Serero has managed to make 15 appearances in the Eredivisie.

Lebogang Phiri

The 24-year-old was an unused substitute as Guingamp slumped to a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Olympique Lyon in Ligue 1. Phiri has already made eight appearances for Guingamp so far this campaign.

Guingamp’s defeat to Lyon sees the club remain at the bottom of the standings with seven points from 13 games, having secured one win in the league.
