Stuart Baxter’s ambitious move to bring Bafana Bafana attacker Mandla Masango back to the PSL from Denmark has failed, according to reports.
KickOff report that SuperSport United have been unable to convince Masango’s club, Randers, to release the former Kaizer Chiefs star despite the player falling out of favour with the Superliga outfit.
Masango will return to Europe on Monday and is expected to remain with Randers until his contract expires in 2018. He is just one of several South African players who have, or are ready to return home, after former Amakhosi teammate Tefu Mashamaite joined Matsatsantsa from Sweden, goalkeeper Darren Keet’s returned to the PSL from Belgium and Granwald Scott’s recent return from Slovakia.
The 27-year-old scored six goals in 27 appearances in his debut season with the Danish club and has scored one goal this season in just two of the team’s 21 league outings.
