Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt says he would like to ‘move on to the bigger things’ after claiming a narrow 1-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout semi-final on Saturday.

The Clever Boys secured their place in the final of the competition after a first-half strike by striker James Keene proved to be the difference at the Bidvest Stadium.

‘First half very good, we looked like we didn’t want to score the second goal. In the second half I said to them they’re going to throw caution to the wind and they did that, throwing three players and caused us problems,’ Hunt told SuperSport TV after the game.

‘I thought we didn’t rotate the ball well in midfield in the second, but I thought we defended better.

‘That final ball in the second half didn’t come for us, it could have made things easy. You gotta give Chiefs credit, they came at us in the second half, pushed us back. We’re happy, I want to move to bigger things this week.’

‘The second half we played with leg-boots on, we couldn’t move. Our two-three yard balls were bad, and when we had to play the final ball we couldn’t do it today. But it’s a cup, we take it,  I’d rather take three points at the moment. Crazy business this,’ he concluded.

Bidvest Wits will now either face Polokwane City or Bloemfontein Celtic in the final, with their respective semi-final clashes scheduled for later today.
