Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande wants his side to produce a consistent performance against SuperSport United in their Telkom Knockout clash on Sunday.

The Glamour Boys will be hoping to redeem themselves after suffering a 2-1 defeat to rivals Orlando Pirates in their previous encounter at the FNB Stadium over the weekend.

However, Katsande believes that scoring an early goal with give them an edge over their opponents, but will not necessarily settle their nerves.

‘It takes one second to score a goal and one second to concede,’ Katsande told the media.

‘I cannot say it will settle the nerves but it would give us an advantage to play with confidence and at the same time there is a lot of work to be done.

‘All we need is a solid game and to perform throughout the 90 minutes.’

With Dean Furman and Bradley Grobler set to miss the quarter-final clash, the Zimbabwean international believes that it will hands another player the chance to prove his worth in the United team.

‘We not worried about individuals. We are more worried about the philosophy of SuperSport [United]. We have been planning around their philosophy and how they move on the pitch,’ he added.

‘You can bring certain individuals in, but the system stays the same. However, it will give someone else the opportunity to showcase their talent.

‘We have been working according to their game plan and the way they setup because the quarter-finals are a tough stage in the competition, but at the same time we are focused on our own performance.’

Kaizer Chiefs are set to welcome SuperSport United to the Moses Mabhida Stadium when they square off in the Telkom Knockout on Sunday with kick-off set for 3pm.
