Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has received a major boost as Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Kgotso Moleko and Teenage Hadebe resume training with the first team.

The Glamour Boys are set to battle it out with Bidvest Wits in their bid to book their place in the Telkom Knockout Cup final.

Amakhosi has recently been plagued by multiple injuries, but the latest report from the medical staff has revealed that Mphahlele, Moleko and Hadebe have reunited with their teammates.

The Chiefs’ first team physiotherapist, Dave Milner, also confirmed that striker Ryan Moon underwent surgery to the jaw, which will keep him on the sidelines until the end of the year.

‘Moon has injured his jaw,’ Milner told the Kaizer Chiefs’ website. ‘He is not taking part in training at the moment and will remain under scrutiny until the pain subsides.’

‘Rama and Moleko are recuperating well,’ he continued. ‘We are working in stages to get them back to full recovery before they can start with the match fitness programme. Teenage, meanwhile, is involved in full training drills and on track to full recovery.’

Milner continued to say that Tsepo Masilela remains sidelined with an ankle injury as he continues to nurse his way back to full match fitness.

‘Tsepo is also doing fine,’ Milner concluded. ‘We are happy with his progress and we hope to have this phase of injuries ending very soon.’

Kaizer Chiefs against Bidvest Wits kicks off at 15:30.
