Bayern Munich displayed their dominance as they secured an emphatic 5-0 victory against 10-man Besiktas in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
The visiting side stood firm in the early stages of the encounter, but never recovered after Domagoj Vida received his marching orders in the 16th minute for bringing down Robert Lewandowski, who was through on goal.
However, Bayern eventually managed to break the deadlock after 43 minutes when Thomas Muller finished from close range.
Kingsley Coman struck early in the second half before Muller again showed his quality to make it 3-0 in favour of Bayern.
Lewandowski rounded off the scoring with two late goals to leave Besiktas in need of a record comeback in Istanbul on 14 March.
