Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk has urged his side to play at their best when they take on Real Madrid in their Champions League quarter-final second leg at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening.
The 22-year-old started for the first time in five games and was one of the Blues’ standout performers as they went down to a 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League this past weekend.
The Blues are now facing a tough test against Real Madrid in the Champions League as they have to overcome a two-goal deficit to stand a chance of securing their place in the semi-final of the European competition.
Mudryk admits that the team is building towards getting better and grinding out positive results after going six matches without a win.
“I think the first half was not so good. When in the second half we started to play, it was already late,” Mudryk told his club’s official website.
“For all of us it is a hard period but we never give up, we keep going and everything can change.
“We all feel it. We want to win but now it is hard for us but like I say, we keep training hard and one day everything can be changed.
“We are already thinking about the next game, the Champions League,’ Mudryk declares. ‘It is a big opportunity for us and we should all show our best.”
