Bayern Munich have confirmed that goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will be sidelined indefinitely, after sustaining a fractured foot in the Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.
The Bundesliga outfit were condemned to their European exit at the hands of Los Blancos, after a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick helped Real Madrid secure a 4-2 victory at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on the night.
The four-time World’s Best Goalkeeper picked up the knock on his left foot in the action which led to Ronaldo’s first goal of the evening, and which forced the game into extra-time.

The extent of the injury to the Germany international has yet to be confirmed, but initial reports suggest that the 31-year-old could miss the rest of the season for Carlo Ancelotti’s s side.
Neuer recently returned from a foot injury that kept him sidelined for three Bundesliga encounters, and his latest injury could see him miss the upcoming DFB Pokal semi-final against arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund on 26 April.
Despite his recent injury setbacks, Neuer has conceded a total of 25 goals, and kept 20 clean sheets from 40 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
