Real Madrid produced a late comeback to secure a 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich to reach the Champions League final on a 4-3 aggregate win.

After England captain Harry Kane supplied Alphonso Davies with a beautiful pass, Bayern appeared to be going to the championship game when Davies cut in and blasted past Andriy Lunin.

However, Joselu equalised the score in the 88th minute when he reacted first to a mistake made by Bayern custodian Manuel Neuer, who had been outstanding until that point.

Two minutes later, following a square cross from Antonio Rudiger, former Stoke City striker Joselu swept home from six yards out, setting up even more drama.

After the goal was initially called offside, Joselu’s onside status was confirmed by a visual assistant referee (VAR) ruling, igniting wild celebrations at the Bernabeu as Real Madrid managed to win 4-3 on aggregate.

The 14-time European champions Real Madrid will take on Dortmund at Wembley on Saturday, June 1.

At the conclusion of the second half, there was a dispute in the 13th minute of injury time when Matthijs de Ligt of Bayern believed he had sent the game into extra time.

When the assistant referee flagged for offside after a ball was played up to Noussair Mazraoui, several Real defenders stopped and Bayern’s De Ligt scored into the net.

The original decision may not have been correct, according to television replays, and if the flag had not been raised, it would have required VAR verification. Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Bayern Munich, along with several players, including Englishman Eric Dier and Kane, angrily protested the decision.
