Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy remains hopeful that his side can make their Champions League clash against Sevilla a ‘memorable one’ on Wednesday.
The Foxes are now preparing for the European round of 16, the first in the club’s history, having already overcome the likes of Club Brugge, Porto and FC Copenhagen in their march to the knockout stages.
Vardy, who is yet to score his first European goal, has so far made five appearances in the competition this season.
The 29-year-old says he will be hoping his side can put in a positive performance against the Spanish side, and he hopes to replicate the same form in the Premier League.
‘It’s obviously brilliant for the Club and for the lads. We’re all going to playing in the game and hopefully we can make it a memorable one,’ Vardy told the Leicester City website.
‘I think if we make sure we put a good performance in, then hopefully we can take that into the league and improve the situation there.’
The England international has netted six goals and assisted a further four from 31 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Leicester City will now travel to Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan when they take on Spanish La Liga side Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Kick-off has been set for 21:45.
