Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has urged his side to remain focused ahead of their Champions League clash against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

The Gunners have met the Bundesliga side four times in five seasons in the Champions league. The last time the two sides met, in the second leg of the Champions League last season, the Gunners defeated Bayern 2-0 at Emirates Stadium.

The 67-year-old manager says his side will remain positive and focused on their performance against a star-studded Bayern side.

‘We just have to focus on the performance,’ Wenger told the Arsenal website.

‘We know we’re playing against Bayern who, after listening to you [the press] are the favourites, so that means we will have to be very positive and, on a fighting front and on a playing front, at the level required.

The French manager has revealed that he will deploy an offensive team with a high tempo to try and stop the Bundesliga champions from dominating possession on the ball.

‘Bayern will, as always, try to dominate the game and have lots of possession. We will play an offensive team with a high tempo and lots of experience. That’s why we’ll have to give a big performance,’ he added.

Wenger admits that its going to be a ‘massive challenge’ going up against Bayern, but he is confident that the Gunners’ experiences against the German side will lead them to victory.

‘We have the experience of playing against a Bayern side who, every year, have the same target – to win the Champions League,’ He said.

‘When you look at their record, they are always in the last four.

‘It’s a massive challenge, but I think we are capable of dealing with it. We have an advantage of playing the second game at home, but we have to make the difference in every minute of [Wednesday’s] game so that we have the best chance of knocking them out at home.’

Arsenal will be hoping to overcome Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League clash at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

Kick-off has been set for 21:45.
