The South African team left for London on Monday in their quest for glory at the IAAF Athletics World Championships.
The Championships get under way on Friday and continue through till 13 August.
At the last World Championships in Beijing two years ago, the team won three medals – 400-metre gold by Wayde van Niekerk and two bronze medals by Anaso Jobodwana (200m) and Sunette Viljoen (bronze).
Viljoen and 100m hurdler Rikenette Steenkamp were late withdrawals, but a fair-sized team of 28 will do duty in London.
