Argentina has unveiled a statue of superstar forward Lionel Messi just days after the player announced his retirement from the national setup. 

Messi, who is a four-time losing finalist with the Albiceleste, called it quits following a penalty miss in the Copa America final loss to Chile on Monday. The statue has been erected in Buenos Aires as a mark of appreciation.
