Watch Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat score a stoppage-time stunner to send Zimbabwe into the 2022 Fifa World Cup group-stage qualifiers after their victory over Somalia.
The Warriors endured a shocking 1-0 defeat by Africa’s lowest-ranked nation in Somalia last week Thursday.
The Amakhosi star received a late call-up to the Zim squad for the second leg to reinforce their attacking options, alongside fellow Absa Premiership players Evans Rusike, Kudakwashe Mahachi and Clive August.
The Zimbabweans found it hard to break down the Somalian defence in the opening 45 minutes, as they were unable to create any clear-cut chances in the final third.
The home side eventually took the lead in the 77th minute when former Orlando Pirates defender Marshal Munetsi slotted the ball home to level matters on aggregate.
Somalia then stunned the Warriors when Omar Mohamed found the back of the net to restore the visitors’ aggregate lead.
Knox Mutizwa put the Warriors back in front after he directed his well-taken free kick into the far corner to make it 2-2 on aggregate.
However, Zimbabwe sealed their spot in the group stages when Billiat latched on to a through-ball before beating his marker to rifle his strike into the top corner.
